I was reading through the Mopar Accessories manual for the new Wrangler and I called up my local dealership and asked them for the prices. They said For 2" coil spacers (which give you 3" of lift by the way) you could fit up to 35" tires, the spacers are made from rubber which cost a total of $1560. I've had coil spacers on my ZJ (made of rubber as well) that cost less than $200 and the rear ones have disintegrated to about 1/4". The Mopar 4 1/2" Long Arm suspension costs $5760 and Skyjacker makes a 6" long arm suspension for about half that at $2372.99. The Mopar Hutchinson Bead Lock wheels cost $623 a piece the Cat-back exhaust costs $835 and aftermarket Cat-Backs cost between $204 and $476.99. The Mopar Cold Air Intake costs (a seemingly more reasonable) $350 and the aftermarket ones are $224.99 for the AirAid, $321 for the K&N "77" series and $339.99 for the XDI piece.
Now the reason I was wanting to stick to Mopar stuff is due to the fact that Mopar stuff doesn't void the warranty and what may be covered under the Unlimited Lifetime Drivetrain Warranty is somewhat ambiguous. This is the response that I received from a dealership about an hour away. But the dealer that I'm getting the 2010 4-door Rubicon Wrangler from said that "whatever it was, as long as I bought it through them (even if it was aftermarket and I just brought in a catalog and the exact amount for the item in the catalog) then I let the dealer install it for me would have no impact on the warranty whatsoever. My family's been dealing with the owner of the dealership for over 40 years now. Because they agreed with me that some of the Mopar prices are a little bit outrageous.
So, my main question is to JK owners: have you had problems getting warranty work done due to the aftermarket mods you've done to your vehicle?
