I was thinking about swapping the stock ignition system in my '99 4.0L TJ with a distribuotr-less one from a newer model. Not looking so much for HP gains, mostly reliability.

Pros & cons? How involved would this be? This is also my DD.

coil overs aren't cheap . pro's no water in the distributor , no plug wires for resistance .

i never really had a problem with my distributor on my 4.0L actually put a distributor cover off a 91 ford escort gt after that i never seemed to get water in there .

Thanks for the reply, Brad. I haven't had any issues with water in the distributor, especially here in So. Arizona. Very Happy I even made a couple of stream crossings that were up to the fenders with no problems.

Probably the cost wouldn't be worth the minimal benefit.
