Does this Jeep pull on-road driver duty at all? If so, I'd recommend something else, possibly a Detroit if you want something reliable and stout.

A TruTrac is not a locker. It is a gear driven limited slip. It is vastly different than a locker or a full spool. I'd still go with a Detroit long before a full spool.

Spools are for trailered jeeps and race cars, stick with a locker.

I agree. I welded my rear end, but its only a trail rig. If you tire pressure is off, it will handle like sh**. And if you have to drive in the snow, you'll drive right off the road.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" Do not put a spool on the street. I have ARB's front and rear. What you save in the spool, will cost you twice as much in rear tires, axle shafts, tires, etc.. I am now driving around on my front diff. cause my rear drive shaft went out. If I had a spool or a true locker, I would be eating up my front tires right now. My jeep goes anywhere I point it. I use my lockers less than 1% of the time I am 4 wheeling. ONLY WHEN I NEED THEM. If you have a locker, or a spool, your tire wear will cost you more than 10 times the cost of putting a selectable locker (ARB, OX) in the first place... TRUST ME.... If you never put your jeep on the street, put a spool in. If it is 50/50 street-off road, Put a selectable locker in. I will never regret putting in ARB's.....
