|
|
I have a crack on in the inner door panel on my 97 TJ full metal door. The plastic is kinda soft... and I know that soft plastics can be hard to glue. I cleaned it and roughed it up and cleaned it again and used 2 part plastic epoxy from home depot, forgot the brand. I let it cure for todays... mostly cause I didn't have time to put it back on. Looked pretty nice you couldn't even see the crack. But the repair broke when I was putting it back on.
Anybody know anything better? There is a structural brace on the back so I don't think that it will spread anymore... but it looks ugly. |

I read a thread on another forum from someone trying to make the same fix. they ran into the same problem as well...it cracked again. I think the best fix is to replace the panel. Both of mine cracked on my 99 TJ...it never bothered me that much to care. _________________ 04 Unlimited |

| For anyone curious, a heat gun works perfectly. The plasctic melts together, like welding steel. If you can't get some similar plastic, you can break off some from the back. |

Sorry, no camera. I used a little BarnzOmatic torch I got from Home Depot. It does flame, heat or soldier for cordless soldering that actually works. I think that it was only $20. |
