I have a 2001 Wrangler w/ 6.0 automatic trans.

Ever since I've owned it when I do oil change or take it for a quicky if 6 qts are put in (which is what it calls for) it is overfilled on the dipstick.

When I do it or take it to the guy I would normally use, we use about 5.5 qts and it is on +/- full on the dipstick. He's a certified mechanic and he has no idea why it would do that.

Anyone else have this problem?

The spec says 6 qts but; between the pump, all the oil channels in the block and a residual amount in the pan; there is always a small amount of oil left in the engine. So in practice, a little over 5.5 qts is about right. Unless you use an oversize filter (from a 5.0L Mustang). Then you'll easily get 6 qts in it.
