Chrysler and Jeep’s new East Rand Lifestyle Centre opens its doors

Designed according the same corporate identity as the recently opened Umhlanga Lifestyle Centre in KwaZulu-Natal (pictured), the Chrysler & Jeep East Rand Lifestyle Centre is expected to increase the brands’ presence in the eastern suburbs of Johannesburg.Boksburg, Johannesburg (April 19, 2005) - Following on the success of the company’s first product specific brand campus in Umhlanga, the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge division of DaimlerChrysler South Africa is eagerly awaiting the next jewel in its retail crown – the Chrysler and Jeep East Rand Lifestyle Centre in Gauteng.
Operating from new premises in Boksburg, the East Rand Lifestyle Centre is the first of several national brand centres which form part of DaimlerChrysler’s new Dealer Network Strategy.
Developed in conjunction with the Cargo Group, the new dealership is expected to significantly grow Chrysler and Jeep’s share of the East Rand market.
“It’s with great excitement that we take Chrysler and Jeep, and Dodge from 2006, to the next level of dealer retail operations in the eastern suburbs of Johannesburg,” says Phillip Michaux, managing director of the Cargo Group. “Our new East Rand Lifestyle Centre will showcase the full range of Chrysler and Jeep products, and will include draw-cards such as a coffee shop and a retail merchandise store to complement the 700m2 of showroom space, 350m2 parts division and 16 dedicated service bays.
“A pre-owned facility will also display up to 28 nearly-new Chrysler and Jeep models at any one time,” Michaux continues.
Brand Centre Leader, Ntoko Molubi believes the new facility will have a direct impact on customer service levels. “This new facility will allow the Cargo Group to consolidate and grow its already successful retail operation in eastern Johannesburg, as well as focus on further improving the levels of service offered to our customers in all aspects of our business,” he says. “We extend an open invitation to all our current and potential Chrysler and Jeep customers to visit the new Lifestyle Centre when we open for business on April 25.
