Jeep Announces Aggressive Pricing for the New Grand CherokeeZwartkops, Pretoria – The Chrysler and Jeep division of DaimlerChrysler South Africa has announced pricing for the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee, due for South African launch on 1 June 2005.
"The Jeep Grand Cherokee has established itself as the benchmark by which all large SUVs are judged in South Africa," explains Guy Franken, Chrysler and Jeep marketing manager at DCSA. "Our customers have come to expect comfort, reliability, functionality and, most of all, affordability from the entire Jeep range and the new premium Jeep Grand Cherokee is no exception."
"DaimlerChrysler is committed to launching vehicles that offer unequalled value propositions. Our new Jeep Grand Cherokee pricing, which is effectively lower than that of the outgoing model, confirms this," he continues.
These new price points, which aggressively position the new Jeep SUV as a high-value premium 4x4, also include a new three-year/100 000km warranty, free maintenance to 60 000km and fixed owner-contribution maintenance from 60 000 to 100 000km. The warranty and service plan on the outgoing Jeep Grand Cherokee was three years/60 000km only.
"The competitive landscape in South Africa, especially with regard to large SUVs, has changed significantly over the past few years," Franken concludes. "Consumers are demanding more for less and all manufacturers have raised their game to meet such demand. However, with brand new diesel V-6 and petrol V-8 engines, unrivalled 4x4 ability, on-road performance on par with the best-in-class competitors, and incredible pricing, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee will definitely re-establish the brand’s hegemony in this segment."
