A
Management Workshop for Land Managers and OHV enthusiasts is to be held
at R & S Powersports Training & Corporate Offices at 11200
Lomas NE, Suite 201, Albuquerque on August 27 and 28, 2004. The purpose
of
the workshop is bring together land managers and planners responsible
for managing OHV recreation and the OHV recreation enthusiasts to
ensure a positive future for OHV recreation in New Mexico. New Forest
Service OHV management guidelines have mandated an overhaul in how OHV
use is managed on public land. While the guidelines require significant
changes for some areas, the specifics on how these new regulations
affect users will largely be determined on district-by-district basis.
To be able to address these issues with local land managers, OHV users
will need to understand the guidelines, the process and the people
charged with the duties to enact these new regulations.
The
presenters at the workshop will be Tom Crimmins, retired Trail
Consultant for US Forest Service and Valerie Guardia, of the US Forest
Service, Southwest Region. The objectives of the workshop are:
Forest
Service Planning Status Updates will also be discussed for the Carson

Alliance members or for Land Managers but there will be a $10.00 fee
for all others.
